I feel immense pleasure by addressing Consumers on this auspicious occasion to educate them on issues relating to consumers rights and their protection. It is a matter of great delight for every consumer that struggle of Consumers Association of Pakistan, being one of the largest network working for Consumers’ Rights and their protection countrywide, for mobilizing their ‘Will’ and ‘Resources’ to address their grievances has got remarkable success in the shape of Consumers’ Protection Act which has been now enacted throughout the country. Moreover, Consumers Courts are giving immediate relief to Pakistani consumers in order to redress their grievances. The pivotal role of Consumers Association of Pakistan cannot be neglected in the promulgation of this Act.
On the other hand, Consumers Protection Departments have also been established through continuous persuasion of Consumers Association of Pakistan in State Bank of Pakistan, Civil Aviation Authority, & Pakistan Telecom Authority for providing immediate relief to consumers. Moreover, for betterment of consumers Food Authorities are working in all provinces with the close collaboration of Consumers Association of Pakistan to ensure high standard & quality of food for every consumer. To create awareness about Road Safety among consumers several seminars and conferences were organized with the collaboration of the Police Department to promote it from individuals, government, Civil Society to grass root level. Through these efforts by the grace of Almighty Allah, Consumers Association of Pakistan can proudly claim that now it has become Voice of Pakistani Consumers as its services have been widely acknowledged not only by Consumers but also government as well as private sectors. In the end, I assure all consumers that Consumers Association of Pakistan will work for its ultimate goal of Consumers’ Rights as well as maintaining standards to raise the standard of living of Pakistani consumers regarding the safe, secure and standardized sustainable development process.
